Richie Miranda and Eduardo “Chapolin” Shine in Title Defenses at LFA 215

Ventura, California – August 22, 2025: Legacy Fighting Alliance returned to the San Miguel Hall in Ventura with LFA 215, delivering two championship bouts that underscored the promotion’s role as a launching pad for future stars.

Lightweight champion Richie Miranda put his belt on the line in the main event against Israel’s Ilay Barzilay. While Miranda has been known for his finishing ability, he displayed patience and maturity over five rounds. Working behind a sharp jab and mixing in opportunistic takedowns, Miranda controlled the pace of the fight. Barzilay tried to turn the tide with wild overhands and leg kicks, but Miranda’s composure never wavered. After 25 minutes, all three judges awarded Miranda every round, making him only the second fighter in LFA history to successfully defend the lightweight title. Now 13‑1, the California native hinted at interest in stepping up to a larger stage.

The co‑main event was over almost before it began. Flyweight champion Eduardo “Chapolin” faced knockout artist Devon Lozej, a Canadian fighter who promised to bring the pressure. Instead, Chapolin landed a perfectly timed left hook as Lozej stepped forward, sending the challenger to the canvas. The Brazilian followed with hammerfists until the referee stopped the contest midway through the first round. With two consecutive title defenses under his belt, Chapolin reinforced his reputation as one of the most dangerous finishers at 125 pounds and drew calls for him to test himself against deeper competition.

The rest of the card showcased a mix of veterans and prospects. Erick Visconde opened the main card with a doctor stoppage victory after swelling around Chris Mecate’s eye forced the ringside physician to intervene. Japanese standout Shuya Kamikubo, known for his grappling prowess, submitted former UFC flyweight Eric Shelton with a rear‑naked choke, while Rafael do Nascimento notched a rare ninja choke submission in the bantamweight division. Roman Puga pounded out Raul Navarrette, Nejra Repp scored a knockout, and Mariana Piccolo secured a slick armbar.

LFA 215 reinforced the promotion’s role as a key stepping stone in the sport. Miranda and Chapolin look ready to test themselves at the next level, and several undercard fighters put themselves on the radar of larger organizations. With UFC Fight Pass broadcasting the show, these athletes gained valuable exposure to a global audience.
